Welcome to Augsburg Westie Station, a vibrant dance community dedicated to sharing the joy of West Coast Swing. Our mission is to create an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for all participants. This Code of Conduct outlines our community standards and expectations, ensuring everyone has a positive and enjoyable experience.

Respect and Safety on the Dance Floor

- Apologize for Accidents: If you accidentally bump into or step on someone, please apologize immediately. Taking responsibility for our actions helps maintain a positive atmosphere.

- Be Aware of Boundaries: Respect personal space and boundaries. Dance moves, holds, and interactions vary in comfort levels among individuals. Always seek consent before engaging in close or advanced moves.

- Consent is Key: Always ask before inviting someone to dance and respect their right to decline. If at any point you or your partner feels uncomfortable, it's okay to end the dance respectfully.

- Mindful Consumption: While enjoying the event, please be mindful of alcohol and substance use. Impaired judgment can affect safety and consent.

Inclusivity and Harassment

- Zero Tolerance for Harassment: We are committed to creating a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, or dance skill level. Harassment, bullying, or any form of discrimination is strictly prohibited.

- Creating a Supportive Environment: If you witness or experience behavior that contradicts our community values, we encourage you to speak up. Your safety and comfort are our priorities.

Reporting and Support

- Seek Assistance: If you feel unsafe or witness unacceptable behavior, please find an Augsburg Westie Station staff member for support. 

- Confidential Reporting: For concerns that arise during or after the event, please contact us through our designated reporting channels. Your report will be handled with confidentiality and care.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

- Immediate Action: Anyone asked to stop any harassing behavior is expected to comply immediately. We reserve the right to take any actions necessary to keep the event a safe space for all attendees. This may include expulsion from the event without refund.

- Follow-Up: Significant incidents may be shared with relevant parties to prevent future occurrences and maintain the integrity of our dance community.
